SNOW DAY IN SOUTHERN MISS.

Snow day!
We woke up this morning to a tiny amount of snow, enough to make Lucy go CRAZY! She loves the snow, she loves to eat it, and roll in it and catch snow balls.

Enjoy some pictures of the snow!

Grad School

Today was my first day of grad school. Oh man, I feel really behind. I am taking a class called Contemporary Trends in Theatre. I have not been keeping up with current theatre. I have not read as many plays as my contemporaries. I feel very self conscious in this class. I hope to catch up fast.
I only had one class today and I think I am really going to enjoy it, even if I feel like I need to catch up. I am just so glad to be back in a classroom.
The best part of going to grad school is that they are paying me to go to school. Not only have they payed all of my tuition and fees and... get this... I get a stipend. Twice a month.
Lucy is feeling better. She has finished her prescription food and she has started to play more. We were really nervous there for a while. We are so glad our "baby" is feeling better.
The wedding planning is off to slow start. We have just about settled on a budget. We are going to go open a savings account this weekend.
So far we have a season, attendants, and cake baker! Only 400 other things to do/plan!

We're Engaged!

Chris Popped the question on Jan. 3rd. In typical Bailey and Chris fashion.
This ring is beautiful. It is a large dark purple amethyst with eight diamonds down the band on each side. I would love to post a picture, but I can't figure out my digital camera.
We are planning a medium to large size wedding for the Summer of 2009. We haven't nailed down a date yet. We are trying to find a location first. As soon as we have a date I hope to send out save the dates.
I do not intend to have the typical, run of the mill wedding. I have been using a site which fits me perfectly. Offbeatbride.com. It is very interesting. I don't intend to use all of the advice from the site, but alot of it comes in very handy.
We have five attendants each. I am having a brides man and Chris is having a grooms lady. He He he!

More later!

Welcome All

I have created this blog so that you can all keep up with me. I promise this will be a family friendly pg to pg 13 blog.

Just a brief update.
Chris and I spent Christmas in Texas. We were both very excited to be in our "homeland." We spent the entire two weeks going from place to place. I need a vacation from our vacation.

I am, in fact, starting grad school. I should be receiving all of the paper work this weekend. I am really excited to be doing something. I will have an assistantship. This means my tuition will be payed for and I will receive a monthly stipend. I am so relieved to be done with substitute teaching.

Chris is looking at the grad program as well. They will have an opening in the lighting program starting in the fall. We are trying to push the numbers to see if it would be financially possible.

Our puppy, Lucy, stayed with her "grandparents" Chris's mom and step dad. On Christmas morning we received a very sad phone call. Lucy had run away. I was so worried that she had become some one's Christmas present. It was a really hard day. I couldn't help but feel like we would never see her again. Late on the 26Th, they called again to tell us she had been located. A local shelter had a dog fitting her description. Thankfully it was her. They took such good care of her. She was bathed, clipped, and micro chipped. We are so glad our "baby" is safe and sound.

We are headed back to Mississippi on Thursday. Every time we make the trip it seems to take longer and longer. It is a SIGN!!!
